While 3D printing may sound technical, the results are nothing short of artistic. The Philippi FRAPPEE vase demonstrates the stunning possibilities of this technology. Using a printer that meticulously applies layers of approximately 1mm-thick ceramic, the vase emerges over two and a half hours, culminating in a masterpiece that’s both intricate and organic. Fired at 1,200°C, it retains its delicate layered structure, offering a striking contrast to its flowing, light-pleated appearance. To ensure durability, the vase is sealed watertight with a glaze up to half its height. For maintenance, simply clean by hand with a soft, damp cloth to preserve its unique texture.
