Description

The Bacchantes vase was designed by Rene Lalique in 1927 and has been in production at the Lalique glassworks ever since. The full length neo-classical female nudes illustrates Lalique's abilities as a sculptor.

René Jules Lalique (1860 – 1945) began his illustrious career as a highly successful jeweller, but it was his discovery of glass as a medium which determined his future direction.

Since 1921, Lalique has been manufactured in Alsace , France an area renowned for its glassmaking. The graceful nature of crystal sets the stage to showcase the masterful craftsmanship and the intricate designs utilized by Lalique.
