About Swarovski

From what began as a small glass factory in Northern Bohemia, Swarovski has now grown to be the world's leading producer of precision-cut crystal, for fashion, jewellery and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors.

The company's founder, Daniel Swarovski, made his name working as an apprentice in his father's glass factory in the late 19th century and soon became skilled in the art of glass cutting, thanks in no small part to his newly-invented machine for cutting and polishing crystal jewellery stones.

Then, with the help of two financiers, he founded the Swarovski company in 1895 and quickly set about revolutionising the fashion world.

The dazzling Swarovski crystals stretch to everything from chandelier parts to figurines, ornaments to jewellery. Their necklaces, pins and earrings are popular worldwide while crystal beads are used to adorn the dresses, shoes and handbags of thousands of glamorous women.

Whatever the collection you prefer, Swarovski remain an influential figure (pardon the pun) in the haute-couture realm and can regularly be found in Hollywood movies, glossy magazines and red carpets the world over.
